Let your kids catch you making art!

I love, what I affectionately call, “kid art“.  Art made by kids.

For many artists, kid art is definition of excellence.  Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.  It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.”

When I went to the National Portrait Gallery’s Open Studio, I was struck by how children fearlessly dove right in, no matter the what the week’s theme or what materials they were given.  The good parents just sat there patiently.

So I have devised a MATCH UP!  Every week I would like to feature your kid’s art right here.

For your privacy’s sake, I will only mention your kid’s first name and last initial.  Here is the catch, parents:  I will feature one artwork by your kid, alongside with one artwork that you created with your kid.  Imagine their thrill of seeing their work online and their parent’s.  They will be so proud of you, I promise!  Send your artworks to paintwithgratitude @ gmail dot com
