What I love about watercolors is it’s transparency. You have to save bits of paper uncolored to serve as your highlights. Then you add the lighter colors and then the darker colors. It is a medium where you have to jump in with both feet, with total commitment! You don’t get many chances to correct your mistakes. But you learn to love the freedom of letting go.
Edward Hopper pretty much summed it up, “If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint”.
